Riverwalk and Hemisfair Park July 2014

San Antonio isn't the most beautiful city in the world, but downtown is lovely.  I love the Riverwalk and Hemisfair Park.

Palmetto State Park

Palmetto State Park is East of San Antonio along I-10,
Just a little over an hour away.

We stopped there on our way home from seeing Lindsey Sterling in Houston.  Living in San Antonio, I couldn't believe how green it was.

The park is huge, having a number of trails, campsites, and even spots for tubing along the river.

I can't wait to go back.

Blacklight Run!

Saturday Evening, at the AT&T Center, I did a 5K.  It started at night.  There were about 14,000 people there according to estimates.

I didn't like the fact that it was on blacktop, or that it was untimed.  Nevertheless, I had a good time.

Hardberger Park

This cactus is about 5 feet tall.
Last Saturday, we went to Hardberger Park in San Antonio.  We walked the trails, and played on the playgrounds.  The park is huge, and even though we were there for about 2 hours, we didn't get to see nearly as much of it as I would have liked.  What we did see was beautiful!

It has at least two play grounds, a dog park, and I can't tell you how many trails.  The picnic tables and public grills are amazing.  When the weather gets cooler, I'll be running here on Saturday evenings.

You don't see many carousels these days.
